Fresh Vegetables and Blooming Orchids All Winter Long
What do you grow in your greenhouse?
Flowers, orchids, carrots, kale, myers lemon, succulents, many herbs, mustard greens, lettuce, endive, and lots of seedlings right now.
How did this greenhouse change your growing season?
Its a year round enjoyment now, i used bubble wrap which has kept it warmer and then cooler in summer, i use mylar sheets on the entire north face with extra insulation and that has been a game changer. On a sunny day its well into the 80's with it being 25-30 degrees outside. Fresh veggies all year around and the orchids it was the first year and they bloomed as did the Myers Lemon and some of my more tropical plants. Right now it snowed yesterday and i had poppy's blooming with a mandavillia to help bring a bit of spring to the greenhouse.

How was your experience buying from Planta Greenhouses?
It was great they were helpful and answered questions fast helped when I needed some extra materials and I know they are there if there are additional issues. It was a VERY snowy winter and there was no problems and there at times was 2- 3 ft of snow in a storm and high winds and never a problem
What's your favourite thing about your Planta Greenhouse?
Once it was up its pretty maintenance free on the outside, and will now have a start on the outside gardens as weather heats up so starting a lot if things to increase the growing season. i brought in a lot of my annuals here in NH to enjoy flowers during the winter and will be able to put them out now and save money that otherwise would have died with winter. The heat kept at 57degrees with the heater and some terracotta heaters has been managable financially which is a big deal
What do you want to say to a person considering buying a Planta Greenhouse?
The first year I use horticultural bubble wrap in the whole greenhouse to give a second layer of protection, the entire north face was insulated to almost 2 inches up to about 6 ft. It keeps it cooler in the summer too cuts back the heat. This year I got some mylar blankets and covered the north face up to the 6 feet over the bubble wrap and on the other sides up to 2 feet and that was much better light and heat all winter long. I have a a 55 gallon black rainbarrel that I fill and use for passive heat and then start using for water in the spring when I move it back outside. The raised gardens are the inside of old commercial dryer drums stainless steel and with composed material in the bottom and I sink a closed pot in the middle and fill with water to act as OLAY type watering system and to help the humidity maintain at least 35-50%.
