What made you get a Planta Greenhouse?
We have an extremely short growing season. I was researching greenhouses that would hold up to high winds and snow load. I was impressed with the Sungrow 20. They had a line of people sitting on top of it. The winds here get to be 85 mph. It was rated to handle high winds. The others I used to own would just blow apart in the winds. So I decided to give this a try because it looked much sturdier.
What competitors did you consider before purchasing from Planta Greenhouses?
I had a cheap one from Harbor Freight in the past. Had to put it together after every windstorm. The hail tore it up. So I wanted better.
Why did you choose to buy from Planta Greenhouses?
The specs were great and they had a guarantee. The material was much better than my previous greenhouse. It was on sale and I was really excited to get it.
What do you grow inside your greenhouse?
I have grown many things in my Sungrow 20. Tomatoes, peppers, fodder, lettuce, strawberries, flowers. I have outgrown it because I want to use it so much. I always have it completely covered in plants. Built a box in it for this year so I can plant into the earth instead of pots in the greenhouse.
How did your Planta Greenhouse improve your gardening experience?
My Sungrow expanded my growing season by several months. This allowed me to finally enjoy a harvest where I live. It is a very short growing season. Without the greenhouse, I would not be able to harvest some of my favorite tomatoes and peppers.
What was your experience like buying from Planta Greenhouses? (Was it easy to buy? How was customer service? etc.)
It was extremely easy to order my Planta Sungrow. I ordered it online. At the time, they were offering free shipping, which was extremely helpful. The greenhouse arrived in a timely manner and in great condition.
What's your favourite thing about the Planta Greenhouse?
I love that I can grow in my Sungrow almost year-round. There are about three months out of the year that are just too cold to grow without adding expensive heating. But I can grow things during nine months out of the year. Living off-grid and growing the majority of my food, this is extremely important to me.
What would you say to a person considering purchasing a Planta Greenhouse?
If you can afford one, you won't regret it. I love mine so much, I wish I could afford another one. It is one of the most durable ones I have ever owned.
Anything else you’d like to add?
I just love to garden and grow my own food. With the Sungrow, I can do this most of the year. If I wanted to invest in more solar, I could actually grow year-round. Since I get to -15 degrees in the winter, this is an amazing greenhouse.
