Our experience has been nothing but positive

What made you get a Planta Greenhouse?
The design and materials. We get strong winds, 50+ mph, in our area on Washington’s north Olympic Peninsula. I wanted an arch greenhouse in galvanized steel to provide the strength and longevity we need.

What competitors did you consider before purchasing from Planta Greenhouses?
Not sure of the brands, but several using powder coated steel and others using wood frame construction. All others we looked at either had a boxy design, substandard materials, or both.

Why did you choose to buy from Planta Greenhouses?
Based on online comments and my own experience, I found Planta’s customer service and instructions, including videos, were the best. Once I called in on a Sunday at 4:00 PM and a staffer answered and helped me right away. Amazing!

What do you grow inside your greenhouse?
Tomatoes, onions, peppers, herbs, bedding plant starts, and orchids (in the summer). In 2023, our first year, we harvested tomatoes into February.

How did your Planta Greenhouse improve your gardening experience?
Our Planta greenhouse gives us a jump on spring growing by letting us grow veggies and flower starts. It also provides nice produce well into December. Nice to have your own fresh food when the snow flies.

What was your experience like buying from Planta Greenhouses? (was it easy to buy? How was customer service? etc)
Purchasing our greenhouse was very easy. Customer service was excellent. Shipping was on time. We made a day of it when we went to the trucking depot to pick it up (two hours and a ferry ride away).

What's your favourite thing about the Planta Greenhouse?
Its looks and design features. The automatic windows work great. Having a door at both ends is a nice convenience we hadn’t anticipated. The double pane sheeting provides good insulation down into the mid-30s. Below that, a small greenhouse heater keeps the temp in the 40s.

What would you say to a person considering purchasing a Planta Greenhouse?
Go for it. But be prepared, as the initial construction effort can be a bit daunting. After the first frame is done, you’ll have the hang of it and you’ll not have any problems. Take your time and use the resources provided, including the instructions, videos, and customer service.

Anything else you’d like to add?
Our experience has been nothing but positive. Building took a while, but was not difficult. Better to not rush and get it done right. I strongly recommend a strong foundation and running electricity into the greenhouse. Carefully plan your location so you get good southerly exposure and are not shaded (as much as possible). Layout the interior considering plant heights and tables and planters.
