The construction is perfect for Montana as we get high winds and snow loads. The wind has not affected the integrity of the structure and the snow slides off after a few days.

It has extended our very short growing season. I can grow food safe from deer and wind, and with shade, I can protect plants from excessive heat.

I only got the greenhouse up in August 2024, so I moved all my peppers, lavender, mint, rosemary, oregano, and sage inside to extend my growing season since we get frost as early as September.

This time, we purchased a 26-foot Sigma (we previously had 30-foot models) along with extra polycarbonate panels to build a lean-to greenhouse against our garage.

I planted tomatoes from seed in late summer/early fall just to see how long they would survive—and I had tomatoes growing in early November!

We first purchased the smaller model, and Planta provided excellent installation instructions, making assembly smooth—even in our 70s!

My favortie thing is the auto-venting windows that open and close when the greenhouse gets too hot and needs fresh air.

It's glorious! We grow tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, beets, carrots, leeks, peas, string beans, broccoli rabe, kale, lettuce, mustard greens, basil, mint, eggplant, strawberry, lemon & figs. 

Herbs like lavender and rosemary survive the winter, a place to grow crops like ashwaghanda, a place for seedlings to harden off, growing lettuce into winter.

It is warm in the greenhouse during winter, allowing me to work in it even during cold, sunny days. And we have lots of those!

Optimal growing conditions which led to an amazing amount of vegetables, rapid growth & an extended growing season.

Since building this amazing 26 ft structure in the spring of 2023, our Planta Greenhouse has brought together family, friends and neighbours in the initial construction and in the summer months – a sharing of harvests.
