What do you grow in your greenhouse?
We grow tomatoes, lettuces, greens of all sorts, kale, arugula, mustard greens, basil, thyme, parsley, and flowers.
How did this greenhouse change your growing season?
I am eating the fresh greens right now, Jan. 8, 2022. I cut fresh herbs frequently. I picked the last tomatoes to ripen inside just before Christmas and we still have a few left to eat. I’m going to plant some new lettuces in the next few days. So having the greenhouse has made it so that my growing (and enjoying) season does not seem to end.
How was your experience buying from Planta Greenhouses?
The experience was great. There were people to talk to before I made the order. They answered all my questions and helped me make the order. There were difficulties with the shipping agent to my area and there was damage to a package that the shippers would not recognize. Planta helped immediately and sent out a new polycarbonate panel, using a different shipper. It arrived just as we were putting the panels in place!
What's your favourite thing about your Planta Greenhouse?
I love sitting and working in the quiet warmth of the greenhouse. Of course, having fresh greens to eat every day when it is -10*C outside is a delight. I love looking at its beautiful design. It just makes me happy.
What do you want to say to a person considering buying a Planta Greenhouse?
I’m 77 years old. I have been gardening for 50+ years and always wanted a greenhouse. I would say to anyone, don’t wait! Get your greenhouse. Have a good and capable friend help you put it together. Watch the instruction videos carefully and often. And then have fun learning about how to use it and enjoy it.
What year did you install this greenhouse?
Any other comments?
The email address says, Roger Luckey. I am his wife, Patricia Luckey, and the greenhouse is mine. Our son helped me put it up and he did a great job. Interestingly enough, my husband has become very interested in and helpful with the greenhouse, and he doesn’t even like greens and vegetables. He’s amazed at how it has weathered this extreme B.C. winter and how his little heater has kept everything growing so well. The photos were taken today, January 8, 2022.
