3 Sigma Greenhouses Later We Keep Choosing Planta

Is this your first greenhouse? NO
Planta Greenhouse Model: Sigma 26
What year did you install this greenhouse? 2024
What do you grow inside your greenhouse? This is our third Sigma greenhouse in the last five years, as we had to move twice in that time. With each setup, we’ve learned how to make installation even easier. This time, we purchased a 26-foot Sigma (we previously had 30-foot models) along with extra polycarbonate panels to build a lean-to greenhouse against our garage.
We’ve fine-tuned our growing strategy based on available space. Our large greenhouse is home to cabbages, broccoli, cauliflower, leeks, celeriac, and even a couple of grape varieties. Netting on the doors helps keep cabbage moths out. In the lean-to greenhouse, we’ll be planting peppers, tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, and cucumbers. We grow many of our crops in bags and also maintain an outdoor garden for potatoes, onions, and beans.
Additionally, we’ve repurposed polycarbonate panels for our chicken coops, which provide more light inside while keeping the chickens warm and dry.
How did your Planta Greenhouse improve your gardening experience? We love our greenhouses. They allow us to grow more varieties than would typically thrive in this region, extending both our growing season and the amount of food we can produce.
What was your experience like buying from Planta Greenhouses? Planta’s quality is unmatched, and their customer service is excellent. Ordering online is easy, and their support team is always responsive. That’s why we’ve bought three greenhouses from them!
What type of upgrades have you done? Tell us about your most innovative DIY solutions added to your greenhouse. We lived through Hurricane Fiona and lost a couple of panels. Since then, we’ve added L-brackets to secure the panels to the arches, just in case. We’ve also switched to longer screws, which are much easier to handle, especially for older hands. Having set up three Planta greenhouses, we’ve fine-tuned our installation process to make it faster and more efficient.
What's your favorite thing about your Planta Greenhouse? The size is perfect, the polycarbonate panels prevent plants from burning, and we can grow varieties that wouldn’t normally survive in our region. Plus, these greenhouses are strong enough to withstand our heavy snowfalls.
Anything else you'd like to add? We would love to see a lean-to greenhouse option from Planta!
