What do you grow in your greenhouse?
Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, okra, tomatillos and herbs.

How did this greenhouse change your growing season?
We are at 8750' elevation, and our growing season is basically from June to September. We didn't install the greenhouse until May, so I really wasn't able to start anything early. However, I am growing cucumbers and okra, which I have never been able to do, and my tomatoes don't have to be brought in every night. I have everything in root pots this year, but next year I will have raised beds. We also ran a PVC pipe under the 6x6 foundation beams so I could thread a hose through and have water inside. We will pull the hose for the winter and cap the PVC pipe.

How was your experience buying from Planta Greenhouses?
Fantastic. Nick always answered our questions and the entire process was a really good experience. The house is a bit difficult to build, but I think we only had to call once and our question was answered immediately. Their customer service is definitely tops!

What's your favourite thing about your Planta Greenhouse?
Everything - too many to list, but I am able to grow vegetables that I haven't been able to in the past. The structure is just so neat and everyone loves to come to visit from the neighbourhood (some say they have a bit of greenhouse envy - lol). I put pavers down the middle of the pea gravel and made a small pad for a chair in the corner which is a MUST. It is such a tranquil spot with a glass of wine in the evenings!

What do you want to say to a person considering buying a Planta Greenhouse?
Do it - do not wait. I wish I had done it years ago! This greenhouse is built for our extreme winds and temperatures and that was the main reason for delaying for so long – we couldn't find one rated for our winds. Go online and watch every youtube video of the installation; the instructions included are not very good, but the videos are. We took our computer out to our site and watched each one numerous times. We had a neighbour help at the beginning of the foundation and initial structure, but my husband and I did most of it ourselves. (We are still married BTW 😁)

The greenhouse does take a bit of patience to install and definitely two people (we had four when we were setting it up with the bottom section) but it is worth it. It is just an oasis for me (you must put in a chair!). We purchased some outdoor "Edison" lights from Costco and put them in not knowing how cool they would be from the outside – it looks amazing. I am beyond happy with it.
