What year did you install this greenhouse? 2023

What do you grow inside your greenhouse? We grow fresh vegetables including green onions, carrots, arugula, lettuce, and spinach along with several varieties of fresh flowers and annuals for the spring planting. We also use it to winter over several non-hardy perennials.

How did your Planta Greenhouse improve your gardening experience? It has allowed us to winter over plants we would normally lose in the winter, along with allowing us to get an early start on spring planting of crops extending our season by 2 to 3 months. With the added shade cloth in early summer, we can keep more tender plants in it before putting them out in full summer sun. It also makes a great in-between season sunny warm retreat to just sit in and read or relax.

What was your experience like buying from Planta Greenhouses? Great service. Picked it up at local warehouse and had no problems. Called support at one point during build and they helped me out immensely.

What type of upgrades have you done? Tell us about your most innovative DIY solutions added to your greenhouse. I custom-made shelves out of wood that allow for a large number of trays of seeds and plants. I also built a custom work table for potting and other tasks. The greenhouse is attached to large lumber beams, and I drove rebar down through those beams for anchoring. I think it can withstand just about anything with the foundation I built. I also used pond foam sealant around the base to keep it insulated.

What’s your favorite thing about your Planta Greenhouse? It is very durable and built to last—not to mention it looks cool. Always getting compliments on it.

Anything else you’d like to add? The shade cloth is my most highly suggested purchase, along with a good radiant heater if you buy a greenhouse. I love the fact I can expand it as finances allow. Thinking of doing that this next year.
